Everyone who has Prime status gets them practically for the game itself, <strong>but what to do with them to come out on top as best as possible?<\/strong> We explain how the drop system works and what is most profitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-does-the-case-drop-system-work-in-2026\">How does the case drop system work in 2026?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cases in CS2 drop once a week<\/strong> within the Weekly Care Package system, under the condition of possessing Prime status. To receive a drop, a player must earn 5000 experience points and advance to the next profile level. At the moment of advancement, a panel with four rewards is displayed, from which one can choose two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Usually, one of these rewards is a case from the called Active Drop Pool. Currently, the chance of receiving a case from this pool is 99%. There exists about a 1% chance for a so-called Rare Drop. In such a case, the system offers a case withdrawn from circulation. Remember to never buy keys on the Steam Market from other players \u2013 they are several times more expensive there (even 12-18 USD), because they serve mainly collector or investment purposes, and not the opening of containers itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-chance-for-a-drop-valve-statistics\">Chance for a drop (Valve Statistics)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Valve officially confirms the chances for individual rarities of items.<\/strong> They look as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mil-Spec (Blue): 79.92% \u2013 statistically 4 out of 5 openings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restricted (Purple): 15.98% \u2013 1 out of 6 cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Classified (Pink): 3.2% \u2013 1 out of 31 cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Covert (Red): 0.64% \u2013 1 out of 156 cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rare Special (Knives\/Gloves): 0.26% \u2013 on average 1 out of 385 cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that the average cost of &#8220;dropping&#8221; a knife is opening almost 400 cases, which at the price of the key and the case itself gives an amount in the range of 1,400 \u2013 1,600 USD. Most knives on the market are worth significantly less, which makes opening cases not profitable in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-open-or-sell-best-strategies\">Open or sell? Best strategies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision depends on your goal.<strong> If you want to have fun \u2013 open. If you want to earn \u2013 sell.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Safe strategy (For everyone): Choose a case every week and immediately list it for sale.
