The Karambit Case Hardened is one of the most iconic skins in CS2. Its appearance is not fixed – it depends on the pattern seed, a number ranging from 1 to 1000 that determines how the texture is distributed across the blade.
Most patterns contain a mix of gold, purple, and blue colors. However, only a small portion of seeds generate patterns with a large amount of intense blue. In the CS2 community, such patterns are referred to as Blue Gems.
The Karambit Blue Gem is one of the most sought-after skins in all of CS2. The best patterns can reach astronomical prices, with record specimens valued at over $1 million due to their extreme rarity.
Karambit Blue Gem
Every Karambit Case Hardened uses the same texture, but its placement changes depending on the seed.
Key information:
- the pattern seed ranges from 1 to 1000,
- only a small number of seeds generate patterns with a dominant blue color,
- for Karambit, the most important area is the blade playside (the side visible in-game),
- the more pure blue color on the blade, the higher the collectible value.
Patterns with a large amount of blue are referred to as Blue Gems, while variants dominated by gold are sometimes called Gold Gems, although they are significantly less valuable.
Karambit Blue Gem Seed Ranking
The trading community typically divides Case Hardened patterns into three quality tiers.
Tier 1 (T1)
The best Blue Gem patterns with the highest amount of blue on the playside.
Tier 2 (T2)
Patterns with a large amount of blue but with a noticeable mix of gold or purple.
Tier 3 (T3)
Seeds with smaller blue areas that may still look attractive but are not considered top-tier Blue Gems.
Out of 1000 possible seeds, only a small fraction qualify as Karambit Blue Gems.

Karambit Blue Gem Statistics
- there are 1000 possible seeds in Case Hardened skins,
- only a small fraction of them generate Blue Gem patterns,
- the most famous seed is #387, considered the best Karambit Blue Gem,
- the price of a skin depends primarily on the pattern seed, and only secondarily on float.
In the case of the Karambit Case Hardened, a good seed can increase the skin’s value multiple times over. Even a Field-Tested example with a strong Blue Gem pattern can be significantly more expensive than a standard Factory New Karambit Case Hardened.
