MAC-10 Case Hardened – Blue Gem Patterns and Seeds

MAC-10 Case Hardened – Blue Gem

MAC-10 Case Hardened is one of the more unusual skins with the Case Hardened finish in CS2. Like other skins from this series, its appearance depends on the pattern seed, a number from 1 to 1000 that determines how the metal texture is applied to the weapon.

Most patterns contain a mix of gold, purple, and blue colors. Only a small number of seeds generate patterns with a large amount of intense blue. In the CS2 community, these variants are known as Blue Gems.

Unlike weapons such as the AK-47 or Five-SeveN, the MAC-10 has three separate parts of the model where the texture is applied. Because of this, even the best patterns usually do not have perfect blue coverage across the entire weapon.

What Is a Blue Gem?

Every MAC-10 Case Hardened uses the same texture, but its placement depends on the seed.

Key facts:

  • the pattern seed ranges from 1 to 1000
  • only a small number generate patterns with dominant blue color
  • on the MAC-10, the texture appears on the upper section, lower section, and rear part of the weapon
  • the more clean blue color on visible parts of the weapon, the higher the collector value

Blue Gem Seed Ranking

The trading community usually classifies Case Hardened patterns into three quality tiers.

  • Tier 1 (T1) – the best patterns with the largest amount of blue color.
  • Tier 2 (T2) – patterns with a large amount of blue but with noticeable gold or purple areas.
  • Tier 3 (T3) – seeds with smaller blue fragments that can still look visually appealing.

Out of the 1000 possible seeds, only a small portion qualify as Blue Gems.

Blue Gem Statistics

  • Case Hardened skins have 1000 possible seeds
  • only a small portion of them are considered Blue Gems
  • for the MAC-10, the number of good patterns is very small
  • even the best MAC-10 Blue Gems are usually much cheaper than Blue Gems for AK-47 or knives

For MAC-10 Case Hardened, the pattern seed often matters more than the float value. That is why a skin with a strong Blue Gem seed can be significantly more valuable than a regular version of the skin in perfect condition.
