Getting started
10 questionsSellYourSkins is a site where you sell your Steam skins for real money. You pick items from your inventory, our bot sends you a Steam trade offer, and once the 7-day Trade Protection hold ends we pay you to the payout method you chose, for example PayPal, your card or your bank account.
On the Steam Community Market you only get Steam Wallet funds. You can spend them on Steam, but you can't withdraw them. Here you get actual money.
We buy items from CS2, Rust, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2. The site is run by Digital Traders sp. z o.o., a company registered in Poland.
Skins are cosmetic items for games on Steam. In CS2 that means things like weapon finishes, knives, gloves, stickers and cases. They change how your gear looks and have no effect on gameplay.
Your skins sit in your Steam inventory and can be traded between accounts. Players want them, so many have real market value, and that's what we pay you for.
You can sell items from four Steam games: Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), Rust, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2.
The item has to be tradable on Steam. Items that Steam doesn't let you trade yet are marked On Steam trade hold and can be sold once that hold ends. For other reasons an item can be locked, see Why are some of my items locked?
Selling takes a few minutes. After that you just wait for the payout.
- Click Log in with Steam and sign in on Steam's own website.
- Add your Steam Trade URL if the site asks for it.
- Pick the items you want to sell from your inventory.
- Choose a payout method and fill in your payment details. Got a promo code? Enter it at this step.
- Accept the 7-day hold and click Proceed to offer.
- Accept our bot's trade offer in the Steam app or in your browser within 15 minutes.
Your price is locked the moment you accept the trade. The payout is sent after the 7-day Trade Protection hold ends. You can start on the sell page.
You do. Steam login is the only way to sign in, and your SellYourSkins account is created the first time you use it.
The login happens on Steam's own website, so we never see your password. We also don't need your Steam Guard codes. Never type your password or codes into a chat, and never send them to anyone who says they're from SellYourSkins.
When the login page opens, check that the address is steamcommunity.com.
You need to be at least 18 years old. You also can't use the site from a country or territory under sanctions, and using a VPN to get around this isn't allowed.
Your Steam account also has to meet a few trading requirements, listed in What does my Steam account need before I can sell? The full rules are in our Terms of Service.
Check these before your first sale:
- Your Steam inventory is set to Public.
- You've added a valid Steam Trade URL.
- Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator is on and has been active for at least 7 days.
- Your Steam account is at least 1 month old.
- Your account has no Steam trade restrictions.
If the site says your Steam level is too low to trade, you'll have to raise it first.
Steam also limits trading after some account changes, for example for 15 days after you remove the Mobile Authenticator or 5 days after a password reset. Valve sets these limits, not us.
Your Trade URL is in Steam's Trade Offers settings. Open this Steam page while logged in to Steam, find the Trade URL section and copy the link.
Paste it into the Trade URL field on our site and click Save Trade URL. Your inventory has to be public before the Trade URL can be saved.
If you ever create a new Trade URL on Steam, the old one stops working, so update it on our site as well.
Most of the time it's a Steam privacy setting. Check these:
- Your profile and your inventory are both set to Public in your Steam privacy settings.
- The Trade URL saved on our site is your current one. You can copy it again from Steam's Trade Offers settings.
- Your account isn't under a Steam trade restriction. After a trade reversal, for example, Steam usually blocks trading for 30 days.
After you change a setting, reload the page and try again. Still stuck? Message us in the live chat in the bottom-right corner.
Yes. Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator is Steam's two-factor protection in the Steam app on your phone, and it's how you confirm trades.
You can turn it on in the Steam mobile app and check its status on Steam's Steam Guard page.
