Selling & pricing
11 questionsPrices are set automatically from real-money market data, not from Steam Community Market prices. We leave Steam Wallet prices out because that money can't be cashed out.
The quote depends on what the item sells for on cash markets, its price range and its type, since skins, cases and stickers can be valued differently. Some items carry a HOT tag: they're in high demand right now, so we pay extra for them.
You see the exact price of every item before you sell, and it's locked once you accept the trade offer.
Steam Market prices are paid in Steam Wallet funds, which you can only spend on Steam. You can't withdraw them to a bank account or a card.
Real money is worth more than store credit, so the same items sell for less on cash markets. Our quotes follow those cash prices, so the number here is lower than the Steam listing. What you get here is money you can spend anywhere.
No. Prices are set automatically, and we can't change them on request.
If a price looks clearly wrong (say, a $500 knife quoted at $10), don't sell it yet. Ask us in the live chat and we'll take a look.
Only the payment provider's fee for the payout method you choose. We don't make anything on it. It's shown in the payment summary before you accept the trade offer, and on the Withdraw page before you confirm a withdrawal.
The fee depends on the method. The SellYourSkins Wallet has no fee.
Currency conversion can cost a little too. Card payouts are fixed in EUR and converted on payout day, and some bank payouts are sent in EUR and converted by your bank at its own rate. More on this in Which currency will I get paid in?
There's a minimum, but no fixed maximum per sale.
Items worth less than our per-item minimum are locked with the note "Value below our minimum". Each payout method also has its own minimum, shown as Minimum payout when you pick the method. If your sale is below it, choose another method or add more items.
For big sales, the only cap is on quantity: we buy a limited number of the same item within 7 days. See Why are some of my items locked?
A locked item can't be added to your sale. Hover over it or tap it to see why:
- Value below our minimum: the item is worth less than the lowest price we buy at.
- On Steam trade hold: Steam doesn't let you trade the item yet, for example because you got it recently. You can sell it once Steam's hold ends.
- Price unavailable or not supported: we don't have a reliable price for the item right now, or we don't buy it.
There's also a quantity limit. We only buy a limited number of the same item within 7 days. Those items aren't locked, but once we've bought enough of one, you'll get an error when you try to sell it. Remove it from the sale or try again later.
If your whole inventory looks locked, check that your Steam account meets the trading requirements.
Yes. Select as many items as you like and they all go into one trade offer from our bot. You get one price for the whole sale and one payout.
Before you accept, check the offer in Steam. It should contain exactly the items you selected on our site.
Usually because another sale is still open. You can only have one trade in progress at a time, so accept the current trade offer or let it expire first. Offers expire after 15 minutes.
If three trades fail within 30 minutes, selling is paused for 30 minutes. Before you try again, check the common reasons trade offers get cancelled.
Most often, one of these happened:
- You didn't accept the offer within 15 minutes, so it expired.
- The offer was declined in Steam. If you didn't decline it yourself, read How do I spot a fake trade offer?
Nothing was sold, and your items never left your Steam inventory. Fix the issue and start a new sale on the sell page.
Start a new sale. A trade offer is valid for 15 minutes, and the site shows a countdown under Offer expires in. Nothing was sold, so your items are still in your inventory.
Next time, open the Steam app on your phone before you click Proceed to offer. Then accept with Accept in Steam app or Accept in browser.
If your Country of residence is Poland, you choose how income tax (PIT) on your sale is handled before the trade offer is sent. There are three options:
- I settle the tax myself as a business (NIP required). You get 100% of your payout.
- I am not a business. We withhold a 12% PIT advance and you get 88% of your payout.
- I am not a business and I request no withholding: my income this year will not exceed PLN 30,000. You get 100% of your payout.
With either "I am not a business" option we issue you a PIT-11, so we need your PESEL and address. If you live outside Poland, you won't see this step.
